Who We Are

An antidote rooted in depth and belonging

Heart Marrow Counseling is a healing space in the Foster-Powell neighborhood of Portland, Oregon — founded by somatic-transpersonal practitioner and astrologer Sarah Lu Baker MFA, RSMT/E, MA Counseling Student (she, they, we) and psychotherapist Naomi Baker, LMFT (she, they).

Together we bring psychotherapy, somatic work, transpersonal healing, astrology, and creative arts under one roof. We are grounded in an anti-racist, inclusive philosophy that values depth over speed, process alongside outcome, and multiple ways of knowing.

We believe healing happens in relationship — with oneself, with others, and with community. This space is designed to hold that truth.

“When someone really hears you without passing judgment on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mold you, it feels damn good.”  – Carl Rogers

Our values are shaped by the antidotes to white supremacy culture as articulated by Jones and Okun — appreciation, shared power, multiple ways of knowing, process alongside outcome. You can see more about this in depth here. We are trying to be a steady, community-rooted presence in Foster-Powell. Present, grounded, genuinely connected.
